In a season full of struggles, a bright spot on the UNO Hockey team’s roster this season was freshman forward Taylor Ward. He was named “Rookie of the Year” at the NCHC Awards Celebration at the Science Museum of Minnesota in St. Paul, MN on Thursday, March 21.

Ward was a three-time NCHC Rookie of the Week this season and the November Rookie of the Month in the conference. He was also named to the NCHC All-Rookie Team.

Ward had 9 goals and 18 assists this season, and was third on the team in points (behind senior forwards Mason Morelli and Fredrik Olofsson).

We’re looking forward to seeing how Ward progresses with the hockey program next season and beyond.
