    On this week’s episode of the #mavpuckcast... Jason and Jon discuss the University of Nebraska at Omaha Hockey program’s 7-2 exhibition victory over the MSU-Mankato Mavericks. They talk about some in-game glitches — with concessions and the ribbon board graphics — during the exhibition. They talk about the new magnetic game schedules for UNO Hockey fans. They wrap the show up with their predictions for Omaha’s upcoming series against the Niagara Purple Eagles on Oct. 7-8 at Baxter Arena... and talk about fan support of the hockey team. 

    Includes team celebration video and video of the “end of game” presentation of the “Spirit of the Maverick” trophy.

    A new season is here! On this week’s episode of the #mavpuckcast... Jason and Jon discuss the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) and give their preseason picks in the conference race. They also look into their crystal balls and predict which NCAA men’s hockey team will win the national championship. Omaha Athletics’ recent open house for Maverick Hockey is also talked about, and the upcoming exhibition game against the MSU-Mankato Mavericks at Baxter Arena is analyzed. To cap the episode, Jason and Jon bring back the “What Are We Drinking?” segment (a segment last featured on the first season of the Mavpuckcast).

They discuss UNO reporter Jordan McAlpine's story that revealed the non-conference slate for the 2022-23 season — and analyze whether or not UNO should be playing a tougher schedule out of conference. They wrap the episode up with their predictions for the NCHC Frozen Face-off on March 18-19.

They talk about fan behavior at the series — including an incident that resulted in arrests and injuries — and discuss what can be done to mitigate such occurrences in the future. They look at parking problems at Baxter Arena during the North Dakota series, talk about positive press for UNO's mini-Zamboni "The Mavboni," and wrap up the episode with their predictions for UNO's NCHC playoff series at Western Michigan in Kalamazoo, MI, on March 11-13.

They look at a new tradition that sprouted up at UNO games involving John Denver's song "Take Me Home, Country Roads." They look at an interesting "fan perk" done recently for a WMU Hockey road game — and discuss whether or not UNO should do something similar. Various playoff scenarios in the NCHC are analyzed, along with the team's NCAA tournament chances. They conclude the episode with their predictions for the upcoming regular season finale against North Dakota on March 4 and 5 at Baxter Arena.
