Omaha Maverick Hockey junior goaltender Simon Latkoczy grabs the #1 play in the NCHC Top 5 Plays of the Week – Nov. 19, 2024. 

Latkoczy was honored for his performance (a key save, in this instance) against Arizona State in the Nov. 15 game at Mullett Arena in Tempe.

Latkoczy made the save with his blocker pad, thwarting Sun Devil forward Lukas Sillinger’s net-front attempt at the 13:50 mark in the third period. 

The save preserved the 2-2 score (at that juncture) in the back-and-forth contest against ASU. 

Omaha went on to win the game 4-2 in regulation.

Latkcozy stopped 41 of ASU’s 43 shot attempts in the matchup. He has a 2.35 GAA and a .933 SV% for the Mavericks this season.
