    1. Ok, we’ve seen them all, what do you think the second half looks like for Omaha?
    2. Of next years commits, who would you take based on scouting reports? Assume 2 underclass men leave early.
    3. What currently uncommitted goal tender would you like to see come in?

Losing Rousseau as a recruit hurt my confidence in the goaltending situation -- should Saville bolt for the pro ranks. Thankfully, with both Lehner and Fleury in Vegas -- not to mention Dansk -- in the fold. I don't see an immediate move for Sparrow.

But, if it happens -- I'd keep an eye on Brennan Boynton at Fargo. Charlie Glockner at Waterloo also presents a USHL option ready to step in.

That said, Gabinet and Noel-Bernier seem to be mining a lot of talent out of Quebec. I'm betting they've got their eye on someone out there. It's just hard to see anyone outside of the USHL/NAHL as an immediate stopgap, right now.

Any thoughts on the first 2 questions?

I’ve got Lemay and Mancini for Knoepke and Klehr.

would like to see Michaelis and Berg for Sundberg and Conley

Believe we lose a couple to the portal for posing time and that opens he door for 2 more (Mitchell or Rollwagen or Nardone or Fust)...

There is still a portion of the roster we haven't seen. Specifically, Bohlsen. And if he lives up to the hype -- there's a boost. If he's another Ryan Brushett -- then we know what we are ... and that's a 4/5 seed in the playoffs.

But this team seems to have more spirit, more fight, and having more fun than in years past (see: exorcism/exocism post.)

As for incoming recruits. Hard to gauge. The USHL is the only league playing, right now. That makes it hard to see development or recruit.

I don't think Mancini is coming. I believe he's turned pro.

As of October 20th, he was planning on coming drafted or not...

Agree wholeheartedly on this. The come backs we saw in the pod (driven by my spouse’s cutout I’m sure) were something we haven’t seen in years. Driven is a good word for it...

If you look at the team this season (and last), a number of the players who have had a significant impact out of the gate are ‘transfer portal’ players (Conley, Knoepke, Tychonick, Randl), and players previously committed to other schools who landed at UNO (Sundberg, Abate, Miller). Ward and Saville committed prior to Gabinet taking the reins... and both are top performers as well.

(Bohlsen was originally a Minnesota commit... and I’m excited to see him play.)

My hope is that some of the younger players who have verballed have a similar sort of impact.

Rollwagen, Berg and Guévin are exciting looking players — and seem like they can have an immediate impact. A number of our recruits are playing for Muskegon in the USHL (and look good so far).

I’ll be interested to see what happens with some of the 2023 and 2024 classes. It’s such a long way down the road that I’m not sure (especially with the Quebec and Euro players).

That said, I still think transfer-type players (that aren’t on our radar) will be key for Gabinet & Co. going forward.

Have we seen John Schuldt or Travis Kothenbeutel this season?

    I’ve wondered where they’ve been....

I’m most excited to see UNO play an actual road game this season. Last season the Mavs had a solid 7-9-2 record on the road, but only tallied ‘3’ road wins in the 2nd half (2 were at Colorado College). How they do on the road will tell us how far they’ve come...

Agreed... when I think of losses, the two mentioned come to mind. I am excited to see Bohlsen as well, but am unaware of why he was hospitalized and that is a bit concerning. The reason I bring up the question is that with a load committed for next year and 4-6 spots, Gabs ability to manage through and make the right choices will be incredibly important.
