Thank you for withholding your Christmas decorations until after Thanksgiving. Let's not forget to be thankful before we get greedy for Christmas gifts.

    Get back on track, Jon.

Huntsville is bottom of the heap. Ohio State was a good test. Anchorage is not as bad as they were last year. Jon is right about the trip to Alaska - between schedule and travel and logistics.

    Jon doesn't like change!

Jon being all proper. Jason doing illegal things. Lock him up!

The past two playing weekends, it has been good to see how the team has responded to adversity. Fought back against Ohio State. Fought back against the Seawolves. Now wondering how they respond to getting behind by a couple of goals -- will those games get away from this team, or do they still have fight in them?

Easier to be a neutral broadcaster -- a Doc Emerick type on a national broadcast -- than to have a home team. Neutral allows you to be all positive, but matter of fact when a team isn't playing well. Donny -- and others -- being paid by teams, have to be concerned about how their employer will receive their words. There is history of professional teams kicking broadcasters off team flights over on-air comments. I don't agree with that, but it has happened. I respect guys who aren't afraid to call out poor effort, poor play, and not be afraid to point out what they are seeing.

I think UNO tried it a few times with Lester. Timing is a factor - usually because NRG goes to commercial right away.

Find another game to watch at that time. Channel surf.

3 goals, 3 game winners for Abate. First goal against Huntsville in the shutout. Ohio State. Anchorage.

    DEAD AIR!

Were they clutch, or did they just happen to score the right goals on those weekends?  A game-winner late in the third, or in overtime -- that's clutch. Scoring the 5th goal in a 9-4 win... not so much.

Weiss had a good weekend. It was nice to get him going. Let's hope he's healthy and can carry it forward. I think we all saw him against Manitoba last year and had high hopes. Then he didn't play at Union due to injury, was out for a while, and never got going. I don't think he was healed up. Tyler's goal on Friday was another that reminded us of his goal against the Bison last year. He has that ability. Can he be consistent? Can he play at both ends?

    Pre-moo? Pre-MO!

What about post-gamers? Have you thought about asking Omaha Athletics if you can post post-game and mid-week pressers? Or being allowed to playback portions them?

I like that the NCHC controls the content. It's all on demand, and you're not getting aced out by football or basketball or rowing or poker. That said, NCHC needs to renegotiate their deal with CBSSN and get at least a whole series per weekend. I get it, football sells more than hockey. But does anyone really care about Army's basketball team? (Maybe we can get Notre Dame into the NCHC, and then move to NBCSN.)

It's been 23 years. UNO Athletics still haven't figured out marketing. No reason to believe it will change anytime soon. Huskers dominate this town -- for some lame reason.

OWH and KMTV do have a resource/content sharing agreement.

Stop being Mountain Dewed at officials. Gabinet cannot comment on officials, anyway. No reason to be upset over it.

Is it possible Denver is a more complete team without Lukosevicius? That team is firing on all cylinders, and struck goal with finding Chrona -- who they scouted only through video -- in goal.

    What? Someone is weird?

It does seem wide open in the NCHC. Seems that way across college hockey, right now. What is Duluth doing? What's up with St. Cloud? Maybe North Dakota is back? Outside of the NCHC, Wisconsin has been uneven. We're getting deep into the season now, and harder to say we don't know what some of these teams are.

Honestly, all bets are off once we get to conference play.

Home ice advantage? Fan influence? Would love to make it a tangible answer, but maybe there is some mystique to the building.

    Bold call, Jon.

Pairwise is everything! RPI and Pairwise. Smurf 'Ken' and his ranking system - he hasn't even started looking, yet.

You do have to wonder about Wisconsin and their psyche, right now. That is a young team, like Omaha. After last weekend, I'm questioning Lebedeff in goal. He looked fragile or intimidated at Penn State. Very average. Can't focus on Caufield. You also have Turcotte in the mix. And a very deep freshman class with Lindmark as well.

Saville will be key every weekend. The difference is that Saville is showing the ability to be a difference maker, ability to steal a game. Winnie couldn't do it. Ride Isaiah for now.

DO NOT MENTION AARNIO'S 38 SECOND START AT NORTHERN MICHIGAN! (It was a Saturday after a last second lass on Friday.)

    There is a news section?

I'm still mad about last week. You could've talked to me about some of that.

On Abate, if he doesn’t fan on the shot from the high slot in the waning seconds... who knows! Freshman Fournado? I saw him getting the pass and my mind already had the puck top corner on the screen!

Would have been a great ending to that series.

I think they'll come out firing on all cylinders this weekend, but there have been moments this season where the team has slipped into some of its old habits.

They need to play hard, control the pace, focus on puck possession, and find a way to frustrate Wisconsin.
