I asked, not being critical. He explained that a Goaltender consultant they work with pointed him out as the ‘quintessential team kid’. Practice goalie, probably wouldn’t see game time, there in case, but it’s a 2 tender system. The kid wants to do what he’s asked and excited to be a part of the team. Mike likes what he sees in the other two so far, and was very complimentary on Jacob. He’s confident in the direction and walking away, I couldn’t help but think that was good enough for me. I am a big Gabs fan, we talked current and future, and I just believe in the guy. Detractors be damned, he’s the type person that exudes confidence and makes you feel it. We also talked at length on the kids coming (if they do) and what the Mavs look like in 2021/2022. Can’t wait to this this group on the ice...

So, I'm assuming Zab is here until Rousseau arrives -- though he might be a safety net in case Vegas comes calling for Saville.

I would still hate to see us end up in the same cycle Miami was in with two goalies in the same class.

If we have two goalies that will get us further than we have been lately, so be it.

Say what you will, but what is taking place is a focus on the defensive core. Both admen and forwards that know that the end with ‘our goaltender’ has ice that will support them too... I loved Wennie, and yes the soft goals were a problem but they were most likely from exhaustion.

    Build from the net out.

Not buying 'soft' goals due to exhaustion. But to disprove your notion I would need in-depth analysis and charting from Sam Spomer.

Competition is good. I had hopes that Tomek would push Weninger more than Oldham had. But, clearly Tomek had a mental block coming in to the season -- where he had never played a complete college hockey game.

Might have been a mistake to play him against Notre Dame. Tomek needed a game to play a full 60, build his confidence. He never got/earned it.
