FYI... UNO recruit Brock Bremer was traded from the Muskegon Lumberjacks to the Lincoln Stars. So he’ll be closer to his future home the rest of the season...

Brock Bremer got a hat trick on Jan. 26 for the Lincoln Stars.

Got to see him play back in December, and he’ll be an exciting player next season.

Anybody know the status on this Davis Pennington kid?

    amature hockey report:

Pennington is an elite defender who is always in control and manages his end of the ice very well. He plays a physical game and gets after the puck and opponents with passion. He contains players easily and gains control of the puck quickly. He is always a factor in the game and works hard to better his team. He has good size on the roster but looks smaller in real life on the ice. He provides ultra-steady play that every team needs from a top defender. AHR Rating: BBB

he’s from Michigan, didn’t see an NLI. Wondering if he could be a Miami traitor or if he follows through...

Not sure about Pennington, Jim. I believe he is still set to come to UNO, but it might not be until 2020 or 2021.

But I’ll work on a new “Recruiting Update” blog with info on all the signees and commits.

New today... Shattuck St. Mary’s (class of 2019) forward Tyler Rollwagen has committed to UNO. The Elite Prospects site has him listed as a 2019-20 recruit. We’ll see if he plays junior hockey for a season (many recruits do, and others have come to UNO directly from places like Shattuck and Hill Murray in the past... we’ll learn later this year).

    Read Rollwagen’s Twitter Annoucement Here

I’ll write a blog post profiling Tyler later... as I’ve been doing for all the new commits! :-)

are you hooked up with the amature scouting reports? I could get you profiles like the one on pennington if you'd like. not all are that "glowing though" and it might turn a recruit off if he sees negatives. so just for your private edification...

Rollwagen is listed as a 2021-22 recruit by Heisenberg.

College Hockey Inc. lists Pennington as a 2020-21 entry. I suspect he will get a season in at the USHL, next year. I like that as a developmental step.

Chris: Thanks for pointing out the year from the Heisenberg site. I updated the blog post with Heisenberg’s info. A year in juniors seems to be typical procedure.

I guess we’ll have to see how many Gabs decides to bring in for 2019 and 2020...
