Wow... Jason thanked me for tuning in. I’m not sure I believe him.
That’s not a humble brag, Jon.
Jason went to Colorado… why didn’t he stay? He seems to love Colorado and Denver more than Omaha.
Watching on YouTube… do I want to see video graphic? Do I actually want to see your faces?
Did not like the first GA. Felt like Latkoczy gave up on the play. Felt… Dan Ellis-ish.
Corsi… hasn’t that been debunked?
Proctor finishing a pseudo-breakaway. Miller taking the back-checker away. Kirby did what the forwards couldn’t: finish.
Not sure I liked either GA from Friday. Felt like Simon was fighting the back all night, leaving bad rebounds.
My thoughts on the power play are on Twixxer. Two SH breakaways against. Then, immediately after the PP ended, a third.
Jon, did UNO forbid you from using their feed? Or is it more that the NCHC.tv feed is Twizzlers, and you have better quality – provided whomever is in front of you stays out of the way?
Omaha had no cycle going with the advantage. Ohio State pinned Omaha to the walls, and won the battles for the puck.
We’ve already wasted 17 minutes on the shootout. Can we please not waste more time by discussing it?
Also… Why TF did they give First Star to the guy who won the shootout? It didn’t count for anything.
Omaha got exploited on Saturday. Disorganized. System break downs. Poor passing. Hanging the goalie out to dry. The Mavericks need to be better at in-game/in-series adjustments.
Ooh… nice shot of the Lansdell hit. Clear major.
Noticed after the first period both nights, things settled down.
Gabinet-coached teams seem to play soft and cute. Need to be stronger on sticks. Need to make plays with conviction.
Did anyone see how goal 4 went in? Was it banked off Eisele’s rear, or off his stick?
I’ve been saying this for years, Jason. Omaha needs to use non-conference games to get varying looks on tape, and in the bank. Yes, you have your primary system. But you have to show teams you have a couple other options. Making them prepare for more than one look actually loosens up preparation for your primary set. And if they don’t prepare for the secondary look, it’s there for the taking.
Bremer had a strong series. Been too long since he was a factor. He had Scooter Brickey annoyed all weekend.
Jason has been reading my tweets.
Latkoczy… stopped 78 of 79 breakaways on Friday.
I’m OK with splitting the goalies during the non-conference season. I’ve long supported running one goaltender out there for the entire season. But I can also see the need to make sure your #2 is ready, just in case. Can’t have a Matej Tomek or Kris Oldham situation.
There was a reason Dean Blais did not like Parents’ Weekend. But the reality is, the parents deserve an evening for raising these young adults.
Ahhh… Jason finally supporting my notion that all home games need a common start time. Road teams benefit from random time changes. It’s easier to adjust a road schedule than players who are at home.
Dean also just despised parents. He was a disciplinarian, and didn’t want helicopter parents (see: Hudson, Alex).
Jon is optimistic that Omaha will get a theme night right – with the team wearing the inaugural sweaters.
Bring back the red. WEAR RED, GIVE BREAD.
Would love to go to Hawk Falls… but that’s like two days after Thanksgiving. Guessing I’ll be working late.
I don’t think it’s the conference’s fault Omaha is isolated. It’s also a difference between Eastern College Hockey and Western College Hockey.
Someone needs to get to Rowe early. Just get in his head. He’s nuts. Western Michigan series always feel wide open on Friday nights. That might benefit Omaha.
Finishing near the top is going to require playing ‘rabbit’… like last year. Bank those point early.
Are we done, yet? It’s Halloween. I need to watch ‘Hocus Pocus’ and ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’…
