Hello.
Friday looked like a ‘turkey skate’. Heavy legs, slow play. Omaha had no energy. Nobody wanted to hustle or go hard, they just tried to make cute, soft finesse plays all night. Didn’t connect on any of them. St. Lawrence was very good at closing gaps. There was no room to skate.
Good no call on the OT goal. But officiating was awful Friday.
The Boyer goal… that one was the missed call. But Omaha – as they have many times before – can’t put themselves in a position where one call can change the outcome. They can’t control the officials. They can control their own efforts.
Both the team, and I had more energy on Saturday. Latkoczy has been sharp in his last four starts. Good to see. I think he gets both games against Duluth.
On-ice post-game celly… Andrew Rogers screwed it up. All on him.
They need to add to the lobby celebration. Lake State has a ship bell they ring outside the arena. We need something like a giant dinner triangle to sound out to the community that we won.
Mueller had a good week end. Obvious pick based on scoring.
Sullivan worked his tail off all weekend. He was in the middle of everything.
Tychonick was a factor. A lot of players were expect to play well we largely absent.
Jason will be upset nobody picked Weiss.
I liked the idea of a New Years party. Better than the 1pm starts they used to try downtown. But I was disappointed in a smaller crowd on Saturday. There needs to be a little bit more of a draw. Something to get us and keep us there. But a good first effort. Should get better from here.
Does this mean they fixed an issue at Baxter? When the arena first opened, they couldn’t raise or lower the scoreboard without setting off the fire alarms. Not sure I know what the issue was, but I had heard it was a problem.
Wow… Jon and Bridget stay up until 11? I had you pegged for 9pm bed times.
Dulutg weekend coming up…
Omaha took 4 of 6 points at Amsoil. You have to expect a better result at home. So… a full sweep is the goal. Do I think we’ll get it? I don’t make predictions.
Go Mavs.
