Heyyy, sorry folks! Between International Education Week and fighting illness, I haven't gotten around to doing a GAME WEEK post this week! Rest assured that they will be back in December.

So instead, I wanted to remind you all that college hockey will be played at Baxter Arena between the Omaha Mavericks and the Miami (OF OHIO) RedHawks this weekend. Both Friday and Saturday's games are at 7:07 PM, and plenty of tickets are still available.

For those who are unable the attend, both games will be on NCHC.TV, with "enhanced coverage" provided by the Maverick Digital Network on Saturday. It'll also be on the radio at 1180 AM or on the TuneIn Radio app.

See you then, and keep living the #nonyikes life!

    PS: It's Parent's Weekend!

Expecting Miami to come out strong, with an edge, based on their success last week. Obviously the Bulldogs are having a difficult time finding their game, but they are skilled, and Miami played with them. Can't fall asleep here.

I mean, if you work in education and represent an educational institution: let's make sure we've got our apostrophes in the right place.

You’d hate to drop a game to Miami because you’re overlooking them.

Lots of questions to be answered this weekend.

UNO has had mixed results on Parents Weekend over the years. Always makes for an interesting series this time of year. I think that’s partly why Blais scheduled Parents Weekend for earlier in the season — sometimes it proves to be a distraction for the players.

Rough first game of the series for UNO. Glad they were able to salvage a tie (and one conference point) in the game.

The first five minutes of the game we played strong. When Miami knotted things up, they were largely able to dictate play the rest of the game (until the closing moments in the third).

The Gateway sportswriter Jordan McAlpine had the following quote from forward Kevin Conley on the game, and I think it pretty much sums up the game. UNO likes to play below the down low, below the circles, and they got away from that on Friday (and I think they sort of overlooked Miami and believed the hype):

Well, that is exactly what I was concerned about. They all said it. ‘Gonna be easy’. I doubt tonight will be any easier. Word of advice. Shoot on Valentine. Shoooooooot the damn puck. Leave tic tac toe to UND.

Looks like the team followed Connor's haphazard lead into complacency.
