I hope we get them, but late season fades haven’t been uncommon .  And I quit believing in moral victories a long time ago.  Is there somewhere that the NCHC conference championship format is explained? It would be our luck to get in because UNO beat NoDak enough to qualify for a home playoff round and then wins their opening round matchup to go to Minneapolis and then be matched against NoDak there.

NCHC tournament is a single elimination all in grand forks this year.

kinda ironic that UNO is going to have home ice for the playoffs and we can't use our playoff tickets this year...

I think we can at least get a split this weekend.  a reminder that UNO was the only team that beat them in grand forks last year and we seem to play well in that building against them.

I'm a little concerned where we are at in the standings and who is behind us.  I'm not wanting a 4 vs 5 matchup with denver.  Denver outplayed us for long stretches each game this year, they just couldn't finish.  Don't like that matchup at all.

hoping for a relatively clean couple of games with out any shenanigans but you never know....

may have to drop in to sioux sports to see what the folks with green tinted glasses have to say.....

They’re firing on all cylinders but penalties are a problem. If we can keep the dogs in the cage, we should be able to split. They’ve instituted a goalie running culture and I’m worried about Saville. We need the first one, or two, to make them chase a bit. I’d love to take Friday and push them on Saturday. A sweep is definitely too much to ask, but wouldn’t that create an interesting poll...

NCHC Playoffs are "careful what you ask for".

Happy we don't have to go to Denver. But I wouldn't want to face Western Michigan, right now. They seem to have things figured out with Aslanidis in goal.

...and if we finish 2nd -- there's Miami OF OHIO.

Right now, I’d take MOO. I was talking much shorter term, like this weekend.

Welp we had some shenanigans this weekend after saturdays game saw over 100 minutes in penalty minutes dished out as well as a 7-1 drubbing.

UND is very very good.  I think the only team that will give them a battle in the tournament will be scsu.

and besides the on ice stuff there was the usual twitter blocks and snipes at both fan bases.    Kinda wish baxter would allow more people but that would just mean a mullet infestation from the north.

should be a very interesting friday nite shaping up at baxter.  I hope some of you care to join me... don't let the rona prevent you from living

I have to say UND looked pretty darn good friday even without some of their big guns.    Didn't see a lot of grade A scoring chances from the mavs on friday.   disappointing game all the way around.  (including the late penalty which I felt even though the UND guy embellished it somewhat it was the correct call)

nice that we had a socially distant sellout friday -- that was nice to see people show up

hopefully we can get a W this friday but I'm afraid UND is just too good

on the plus side I did get outbid on the blue line club auction so no new additions to the collection.  I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on that matt white jersey that ryan johnson has but we shall see.

off topic:  did anyone catch that wild ending between Umass an BC?  that was a bizarre ending and I don't think i've seen that before.

I'm planning on resuming the weekly recap next season unless there are objections.

No objections and you’re darn right, UND made few mistakes and smothered the Mavs offense in the last 3. I can’t help but wonder about the mid season COVID impact. They looked flat, really flat, something that didn’t happen in the pod.
